AI Disclosure and Accountability

This site, and much of the work behind it, was made in collaboration with AI systems, including Claude, made by Anthropic. This page says what that means, what happens to anything you send us, and who answers for the result.

The short version

A person decided what this should say, directed the work, reviewed what came back, and published it. AI systems did a great deal of the typing. SproutVest, LLC is the publisher and is answerable for all of it: every fact, every recommendation, every line of code, and every consequence of getting one of them wrong. "The AI wrote it" is not an excuse, and we will not offer it.

Where AI is involved

The code. Most of the software behind this site was drafted with AI assistance. It is reviewed, tested and gated exactly as hand-written code would be; nothing ships because a model produced it.

The writing. Much of what you read here, the guides, the case material, the site copy, and this page, was drafted with AI assistance and edited by a person before publication.

Translation. This site is published in English and Chinese. The translations are AI-assisted and checked for meaning by a person who is not a native speaker of both. That is a real limit, and it is the one place where your eyes are better than ours: if a page reads wrongly to you, tell us.

The advisory work itself. We use AI systems in how we research, draft and pressure-test the work we do for clients, in the same way we use them here. The judgement, the recommendation and the responsibility are ours.

Client material

This is the question a client actually has, so it gets its own section rather than a sentence.

• Confidential client material does not go into a general-purpose AI service without the client's agreement. Where a client wants AI used on their material, that is a conversation we have with them, in writing, before it happens, including which service and on what terms.
• We do not use one client's material to inform work for another, with or without a model in the loop.
• Nothing you send us is used to train a model. Not your enquiry, not your documents, not what you say on a call.

Accuracy

AI systems produce fluent, confident prose that is sometimes wrong, and the fluency is the difficult part: a mistake made this way does not look like a mistake. So we check what we publish, and we do not claim the checking is perfect.

That matters here because this site publishes guidance, frameworks, benchmarks, checklists, that a reader may act on commercially. Nothing on this site is a substitute for advice on your own situation, the numbers in it are illustrative rather than researched to a standard you should rely on, and where a claim matters to a decision you are making, ask us and we will show you where it comes from.

When you tell us something is wrong, we will look at it, fix it if it is, and say plainly that we did. We will not quietly edit a page and leave the record implying it always said that.

Bias

Models are trained on what people have written, and they carry what people have written, about nationalities, genders, ages and accents, and about which founders, markets and kinds of business get described as credible. In advisory work that is not abstract: it shapes which comparisons come to hand and whose success is treated as the default pattern. We treat a reported bias as a defect with a fix, not as a difference of opinion. And we do not use AI systems to score, rank, screen or judge a person.

Rights and provenance

AI systems are trained on work that other people made. There is a live legal and ethical argument about that which this page does not pretend to settle. What we will commit to is narrower and checkable:

• We do not prompt a model to reproduce a particular person's work or to imitate a named living creator's style.
• We do not knowingly publish material that is substantially copied from someone else's work, and we remove it when we find out.
• We do not generate a real person's likeness, voice or name to suggest an involvement or endorsement that does not exist.
• Third-party fonts, images and code carry their own licences, and we keep those licences with them.

If you believe something we publish infringes your work, write to legal@sproutvest.com with enough detail to find it. We will review it and attribute, licence or remove it.

Your data and AI

AI is used to make this site. It is not pointed at you. There is no AI feature on this site. Nothing you type, request or read here is sent to an AI provider by the site itself. What the site collects is described in the Privacy Policy.

We also do not use an AI system to make a decision about you, whether to reply, whether to take on an engagement, or what to quote, without a person making it.

What we will not do

• We will not publish AI-generated text as though it were a person's first-hand account. No invented testimonials, case studies, results, credentials, or clients.
• We will not present AI output as professional advice. Nothing here is legal, financial or tax advice.
• We will not use this page as a defence. Disclosing that AI was involved changes nothing about our responsibility for what it produced; it is a courtesy to you, not a limitation of liability.

This statement was itself drafted with AI assistance and read by a person before it was published, which is exactly the process it describes.
